Public safety in Switzerland is safe compared to other Western European countries.
The cities themselves are quiet and laid-back, and the penalties for crimes against tourists are severe.

5. Climate

Zurich is located about 30 kilometers north of the Alps at the northwestern end of Lake Zurich. The city is nestled between forested hills including Gubrist, Hönggerberg, Käferberg, Adlisberg, and Oettlisberg. It has a mild spring-autumn climate, but winters get quite cold. The average high temperature in December and January is only 2°C (36°F) or 3°C (37°F), and the average low temperature is around -3°C (27°F) or -4°C (25°F)..
Geneva’s weather is fickle, with mornings remaining relatively cool before the humidity rises during the day. It rains a lot throughout the summer, but less frequently than in the winter. Thunderstorms occur in the summer, with occasional hail.In the fall, morning fog is common. Winter begins in late November, with winter lows as low as -10°C (14°F).
